Driving alot in 1 day - bad for the car?
Hello, this might be a silly question, but still:
Is it bad for the car if you drive about 2000 miles non-stop (well, only for gasoline)? I think not, because it doesn't really matter for the engine - it works the same when you drive 10 miles or 4000. What do you think?
I'll need to drive my new benz (c230 sedan) about 1500 miles one way (non stop) and 1500 back.

Long drives
Once the car is broken in, a long drive is better for the engine than short trips with repeated cold starts. That's one reason why Greyhound Bus engines last over a million km - the engines never cool down and they thrive as a result. Commute 6 miles in a Greyhound and you'd probably see no more lifespan than a diesel car engine...
Probably 90% of the wear on the typical car engine derives from cold starts and warm up.
