All my C320 Problems

I'm starting to get very frustrated with all the problems my 320 has had. I really expected a MB to be better than this.... Here's my list:

Big ones...
1) Command/radio/CD system dies on way home from dealer (Fuse replaced).
2) Command/Radio/CD system dies again two days later (Screws holding CD player shorting -- screws replaced, fuse replaced)
3) Key transmitters stop working (keys replaced)
4) One key transmitter stop working again. (Ooops, one of the two keys wasn't replaced with the new model.)
5) Car dies in driveway and needs to be towed to shop. Ignition system replaced - in shop for 2 weeks.
6) LCD display and headlights flash on and off, display reads "Display faulty" -- Dealer can't duplicate. Guess it isn't a problem.
7) SRS Light flashes, display reads "SRS System failure". Dealer replaces driver's seat and seatbelt bucke.

And the little ones...
8) Gas Gauge doesn't corectly read level of tank -- Repaired
9) Rear sunshade periodically won't raise -- Dealer can't duplicate (Even though service advisor and shop foreman saw it happen)
10) Right side rear mirror doesn't move -- Replaced
11) A/C System switches from auto to manual on own -- Dealer can't duplicate even though service advisor saw it.
12) Car switches from summer to winter mode on own 1-2 times per week -- Dealer can't duplicate
13) Radio inoperable -- just static. Haven't had time to take this one in yet.

In total, the car has been at the dealer for over three weeks of it's first year of service. The first time I was given a dodge caravan, and after than I was given a Ford Taurus.

Does this seem typical? If so, I'm REALLY glad this thing is on a lease so I can get rid of it at the end. It's a fun car to drive and all, but having to take the car in once a month is getting really old. Besides, my friends at work are getting a great laugh at me when I show up in a ford every few weeks while continuing to make Mercedes payments.

I think I'd try the lemon law....someone on here has an E320 "LEMON" and is pursuing it.

I think it has to have the same prob reported and noted by the dealer 3 times....

My C320 has been pretty much trouble free with 12k on it ! (never left me stranded or scared to drive it....yet...knock on plastic!!)

See Garage
When was your car built (Month/Year from Dr. Door placard)?

I haven't had any of these issues, save a glitch in one of my keys, one day (no stranding, hasn't returned).

Sorry to hear of the problems... I imagine my co-workers would ride my butt, too.

This site should help you find a lemon law layer in your state:
Lemon Law America

If you are in California:
California Lemon Law Attorneys

It's not a fast process, but it is well worth it.

Prod date was 01/10/01.

Today's fun -- Radio now working. Blower on A/C wouldn't run for first 10 minutes on way to work. Even on full blast, manual, no air out.

is your lease through MBCC? I would assume you could get a little more support since they own the car. Possibly assisting you in a trade in.

I had a 2000 Jetta that had problems they couldn't fix, VW credit ended up swapping at a decent rate.

Rats. Don't be afraid to persue the "Lemon Law", it can be a lifesaver. Too bad you are having such problems.
