Batt/Alt Error now becomes SRS go to workshop
For the longest time I had a Battery/Alternator Error message showing up but never had a problem with a dead battery etc (voltages checked out as well) The car has a new battery (OEM) and today I changed the Voltage Regulator with an OEM Valeo one. Total time about 2.5 hours.
When I connected the battery up and fired up the car I now have a 'SRS go to workshop message' WTF??
How can I have this error from re&re the alternator and not touching anything else in the car.
Any advice?

Did you disconnect the battery at the negative terminal first, and reinstall the negative terminal last? Did the Bat/Alt message go away?

Bat/ Alt message not showing but then again it seemed to go away in warm weather
All SRS fuses are fine

Have an Indy run SDS on it, you'll need someone to clear the SRS message anyway. If it's a real failure it will come back and if not you're home free (except for the SDS charge).

It amazes me how a simple procedure of disconnecting the battery can bring on a whole host of problems. There is obviously a design flaw in the system and quite frankly is ridiculous

$80 later and the problem is solved. The error is caused when the alt and the battery is disconnected for any period of time and there is no way around it. It needs star diagnostic hardware and software to clear the error. The garage (McNally) an indy said the only time to disconnect the battery in this car is to do an alt exchange, all other repairs they said to leave the batter in and no key in the ign.
Seems like a very stupid system IMO. With todays technology you would think that the system is smart enough to reset itself if it sensed a voltage drop to 0 and later replenished to 12.5.
This really leaves the DIYer SOL if you don't have that very expensive computer equipment for a very simple repair
