Seat belt light & SRS issue
This morning on my way to work, I thought I saw the seat belt light come on and go off quickly once. Since the passenger seat was empty and I had mine on, I thought I was seeing things. Then it happened again to me on the way home. Then as I was pulling into my driveway, I got 2 quick seatbelt light flashes - pause - 2 more quick flashes - pause - then the red SRS light and "SRS Malfunction, drive to workshop" message on the info display.
I've got the recall notice but this seems unrelated (and no matter, either, car has 112,300 miles). The "passenger airbag off" light stays on as it should with an empty seat, so I'm not sure it is a weight sensor either.
Anyone see this before?

That sensor must also double as the one that knows if the front passenger doesn't have on their seat belt? If so, that is probably it. By my research it is a $250 part online.

The exact same thing happened to mine about 3 months ago. I had my indy shop clear it and it has been fine since.
