I didnt know if it would fit because it looks like the C55 has a tad smaller mufflers than the single muffler in the C230. I saw pictures of someone where on the forum putting C55 exhausts on a c32 and the mufflers do look smaller than the single one on the C230.
If it fits thats great, I was just cruious

ok so here what might happen...if you get the C55 spare well the current C230 will not fit, in my expertise our spares are shifter over the the pass side to fit in the larger muffle that c class has...now if you are going to go with the C55 set up then go ahead get the C55 well and just keep your cracked C230 well untill you get the C55 mufflers installed.
So in so many words: C55 well will not fit the C230 muffler and two C230 mufflers will not fit in C55 well

the thing is I must replace the rear bumper and spare basing now because they are both ruined. I have insurance money to do that with, but I wanted to swap out for the C55 of each. Doing do will also require an automatic exhaust change. I hadnt planned on doing the exhause right away as my initial plan was as follows....
swap to C55 bumber
mount CF rear diffuser
run custom piggy pipe around tire well when I had time.
Now since the work needs to be done, I may as well do the upgraded parts, but upgrading parts requires an immediate exhaust change. There is my problem.
Keep stock parts and do fake dual exhaust later, or go for C55 now and do true duels right now.

wow wow wow...i dont think the bumpers are different except for the second cut out...i would say replace the rear bumper to either stock or C55 now...basin you dont need to reaplce now...btw its easy install..cant you patch it up till you get a c55 basin?
and i would look around for the c55 exhaust...why spend all this money on fake and all when you can get true c55 rear in just a matter of time? and time being perhaps a month?

Screw it, after researching some back pressure issues, im just going to put the stock tire well and rear bumper in, and pocket the exhaust money. Ill use that money to pay for the custom set up. But that's not what I'm excited about....
I just pulled the trigger on a set of custom Forgestar F14 in polished silver.
Front: 18x8.5 (Offset will be determined by Forgestar for flush fender fitment)
Rear: 18x10 Deep concave (Offset also will be determined by Forgestar for flush fender fitment)
Unfortunately there is a 4 week build time, but its work the wait for a custom setup. I will still have the end of august, all of September and even maybe into october before they go away for the winter.
They are going to look SWEET!

Ok next question.
Now that the wheels are ordered, I have about 4 weeks to find the best set of summer tires to put on these bad boys.
As I said, I got 18 by 8.5 in the front and 18 by 10 in the back. I am looking for a juuuuuuusst slightly stretched look. A hair under flush would be perfect. Im open to any and all suggestions.
What does everyone thing?

I was looking for a flush mount in the back while still having the wide wheel look (I am a fan of that look).
I do not think that they are that wide as most aftermarket set ups at 18 by 8.5 front and 18 by 9.5 back. Half an inch is not that much larger honestly

Out Of Control!!
Are you looking for recommendations on tire brand or tire size?
For tire brand, the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports have been getting great reviews, but they're damn expensive.
Very nice looking rims.
If you're going to change back and forth, summer vs. winter, you should just consider doing a stud conversion to make things easier. Not to mention being able to get good looking lugnuts, of course.

I am looking for both, size and manufacturer recommendations. I have the stock C230 SS suspension and dont plan on doing a drop. If I do, it would be a minimal drop a ways down the road.
Im between 265 and 275 for width in the back, any better size options?

i absolutely love those wheels and almost purchased them myself... but one reason i held back was that i heard of many cases of them bending.
even when i called to order them and i wanted 18's... they asked me what model of car to make sure i didn't have a heavy sedan. the salesman told me that they were having problems with 18's bending for "larger cars"... however after searching online i found people selling their bent forgestars from smaller cars too.
here are a few links to threads:

I am just worried that their whole "rotary forged flow formed" process isn't as refined as they say it is. I personally think they might be pushing the limits of weight/performance and sacrificing structural integrity/durability... but I tend to lean on the conservative side (especially b/c these wheels aren't cheap).
I just wanted to give you heads up.... and I hope they treat you well.
Overall, very sick looking wheels and one of my favorite styles.

I just dont think its as easy as swapping the spare tire wells. I think there are a few other things that need to be installed. Also if I go back to my original idea and use the exhaust insurance money to pay for the custom pigy back echaust, It will not cost me a dime and be much less of a hassle. A true C55 setup would also hurt the back pressure balance.

Ok so I just dropped the C off at the body shop for repairs. Could be at long as 3 weeks until I get her back. There turned out to be a bit more rear frame damage than I thought (not going to be cheap).
Also picked up my rental......a pos Chevy Impala. Its just reinforcement as to why I didn't and will never buy american ever again lol. I also brought the CF rear diffuser in to have them install it. Since its in there anyways, what the hell.
Ill let you guys know when its out, at which time Ill post pictures of the work.

You are sure telling me. When he first told me I got a bit annoyed because I thought he was just trying to pull a fast one on me, but then he pointed it out....don't know how I didn't pick up on it. directly above my gas door, there is a little bump out, actually allot like a crease. In the same exact spot on the other side of the car, there is an indent. I was hit from the right rear (right side of the bumper took the most force) causing the entire rear end to shift left.
Essentially from the rear tire wells back, the entire car is bend slightly to the left. This thing did a phenomenal job at concealing all this freaking damage. I won't pay a dime for it, its just longer that ill have to stay with this damn rental.

Yes all my door gaps are fine, but the trunk gaps are all sorts of ****ed up. The right gap is 3 to 4 times larger than the left, and the right side of the trunk is way further up on the rear window than the left. Things are all sorts of messed up

Luckily no. My car is considered in excellent condition with all the options except for the NAV. the KBB value is still about 17K. The work estimate is between $6k to $7k so don't think its near the point of being totaled. The car who hit me on the other hand.....he may not be so lucky. $6,500 car with 6K dollars in damage =/
