Just as the tittle stats i just completed a drain and fill on my trans with 60k on the clock.....i know im late.
Anyway after reading a few threads on here about different fluids people use i decided to go with mb specific gear oil @ $30.00 bucks a bottle
oil came out imho pretty clean a nice light brown color there was more shavings on the drain plug than i would have like to see, (this is why i am posting this) i will be posting pics in a bit to get some opinions. The trans feels noticeably better to me not so much in the 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, but i never had any issues with those to begin with....the 1-2 shift feels WAY better than before those of you who know me know i push my car pretty hard, i was worried that my driving habits+overdue service had resulted in premature sycro failure, not that it was bad shift from 1-2 but there was a slight crunch.

I made the same swap a few weeks ago when my 06 C230 hit 56K miles. Consider yourself lucky with $30 a bottle, I was charged $50. As far as the shavings are concerned, I had just about the same. Maybe a hair less but comparable.
As far as the shift quality is concerned, I saw I MAJOR improvement in shift quality. Like you said 1-2 and 2-3 saw the most improvement as those are the ones that are engaged most often (damn city driving).
Also have you thought about changing the rear diff fluid also? I was going to change mine while I was down there changing the tranny fluid, but I just never got around to it. Overall though, its a relatively cheap job yielding awesome improvements.

Thanks for chiming in man i was thinking no one with the 6 speed had ever done it themselves lol. I was going to do the diff but i remember reading that's every 100k.
