looks like we're getting a bit off the subject here. The man is looking for a sports coupe (possibly convertible?). Since he has other very nice sedan etc the volvo is kinda pointless (maybe the C70 convertible but thats a tad still lacking in the sport dept). he doesnt really care if its 2 or 4 seater so really the good choices are:

Z4 (i guess the base engine if comparing to a TT180)
TT180
350Z
SLK230 (b/c the c coupe is really apple and oranges compare to others)
maybe even the new RX-8
MR Spyder?
Miata??

I drove the G35 sedan. The fit, finish, materials and ride quality were all lacking in comparison to my C240. HORSEPOWER ain't everything!

sorry Jim but the C240 is not all that when it comes to interior. I dont know why but people seem to think its pure luxury. All it is is leather, some wood and plastic in some parts. WOW. The infiniti is not just about hrp, its about having a better audio system, more comfortable seats, and as for the rest well its all what u pay for, u want a navigation system etc... u can get that on both. Granted this is my opinion, but the horse power and audio for sure beat benz, the rest is personal for everyone

I'd say the Z4 because it won change for another 5-6 yrs since it just came out. BUT you do have a 330xi already, so why not try something that's not a Bimmer. In that case I vote for the C320 coupe because TT is going out of production pretty soon (maybe 2 yrs). Then again, there is the 3.2 liter TT that will hit the market in 04 with 240 hp +, and that will sure be a lot more fun than the C320 coupe.

I wouldn't get the G35. Personal opinion, because the dealership I went to had the worst attitude and acted like I couldn't afford the G35 because I told him my previous car was a VW Beetle. Told me the G35 is out of my price range and that I should look at the Sentra Therefore, I urge everyone to not buy Infiniti Anyways, if I were to choose, I'd take the 350Z over the G35 coupe. I think it doesn't look as chunky.

But out of the 3 original choices, I'd have to go with the TT. The Z4 has a nice interior, but, well, I don't think it's as elegant as the TT's. You spend most of your time inside your car right, so, I think the interior matters a lot. Especially since both cars look beautiful outside. I'd love to drive a quattro TT! The C-coupe is out of its league when compared to the Z4 or TT!

The G is far from a new car. In fact, it's the oldest body style that MB currently makes. It's been around since the 70's with few exterior changes.

Duh!! Somehow I read that wrong. Plus, I haven't kept up on this thread anyway. I'm getting sick of these comparison threads that are always biased.

it's probably gonna change the look a bit...rumor say it'll be a little bigger than it is now and with a newer platform from the A4 rather than the current platform shared with the last A4/golf/jetta/beetle

so is it gonna be more expensive or gonna stay around the same price?
and it should be better in all ways then the current car right?

should be a better car then the current one. no idea on how much will the price inflat. It's still two years away before they kill the current production.

Some stated that dealer treated them with no respect and did not think they can afford one. I would be angry too if I wasn't taken seriously when I want to buy something. Unfortunately u delt with an ignorant sales person who was never taught how to sell because no matter how someone looks he or she can be very rich or be able to afford a lot of things. But keep in mind the dealership sucks but not the car. If there is another dealer in town give them another try just for the hell of it.

By the way, same scenario usually happens at the Benz dealer ships more. I have heard several stories. But also u have to do your part to avoid ignorance from people by dressing up, taking a family member if u look young, talk with them on a serious note etc... Im not saying u didn't do any of those things but im saying they do help
