2002 C230
Headlights are always on.

My car was involved in a car accident (2002 C230 Coupe). So the mechanic fixed everything and had to put in new headlights. I have halogen headlights.

But ever since I got my car back, the headlights are always on. And I am not talking about the DRL. When I turn the switch to the off position the lights remain on. Even in the day time. The only time the lights turn off is when I turn the car off.

When the switch is on auto and in the day time, the lights are on. I cannot turn them off with the off switch. There is also no way to turn the lights off at night. Even when the switch is in the off position.

Is this a sensor issue? Are there sensors in the headlights since those were replaced? Anyone know what I should check. Because my headlights are on constantly and only turn off when the car is off. There is no way to turn them off otherwise.

Check your lighting settings in the MDF; the "constant on" feature is probably enabled. This is the DRL function, and they cannot be turned on/off at the switch.

Might want to look it up in the manual, too.
