A/C problem and tires question.
My brother just bought a 2007 C230 last week from an auction for about $9000 after all the taxes and auction fees and the only probelm there was on the car was a cosmetic problem with the fender which we replaced. He drove the car out of town and around town and there were no problems until 2 days ago when his a/c stop working. The compressor runs but the blower would run for about 2 seconds and cuts off, so I went and took the blower out of my 2003 c230 and plugged it up to make sure it was the blower before i went to the stealership and get ripped off and it did the same thing, cut on for 2 seconds and cut off. So any idea on what could be wrong?
And my second question is about my car which is the 2003 C230. I have some 18" mandrus wheels on right now 8.5" in the front 9.5" in the back and the tires i currently have are 265/35/18 in the back and 245/35/18 in the front. I scratch a hole lot in the back and tires would make a loudd sound when im driving also its killing me on gas. so what tire size can i go with that wouldnt kill me as much on gas and would give me a better ride.
Thanks

For your ac issue did you change the regulator when you did it? It controls power to the blower motor so it could cause it to spin for a second then die. Otherwise you should switch the ac controls to see if it went bad your 05 should hopefully work without an issue in his car I don't think the manual ones are as picky as the 01-04 digital ones are.

I bought my car with 18" wheels on it and 265/35/18 tires on 9.5" wide rims for the rear. It would rub on dips in the road or bumps if someone was in the back seat. I installed a rear camber kit and had it professionally aligned and now have zero rubbing issues. I think you need to go down to 235 wide up front.

As far as your AC problem, i would def. take a look at some of the postings on AC from rabney. This individual is very nice and took the time to speak to me about his prior problems. Pulley's and the alternator seemed to fix his problem. Just trying to help as I had the same problem.
