The 230 does not have a door ding anywhere on the car and apart from a few rock chips in the front and some curb rashes to the wheels I'd say it's in pristine condition. The car has only 42,500 miles, has been stored in the garage and all of the maintenance (sans the rear pads) were done at local Mercedes dealers. I'd say it's somewhat unique due to low mileage and condition and not sure if what a fair price would be. I'd say getting $8K for the car is a little low.
Any opinions would be appreciated.
With your mileage, you shouldn't have any trouble getting at least $12K for it.
So you could have probably gotten a little more at trade-in, and saved yourself the hassle of trying to sell it yourself. I would have negotiated a little and dumped it.
I just gave $10k for an exceptionally clean '02 C320 Estate Wagon w/ 69k miles, so your car a year newer and half the miles? Sure, the 320 might bring a few bucks more than a 230, but...
I'd think $10k might be reasonable.
I know I may have overpaid for my car, but the wagons are very rare, and here in TX people really pile on the miles. Maybe I'm an odd-ball for wanting the wagon, and maybe they are actually worth LESS (I don't know cuz I haven't seen even TWO hereabouts on the road in the last year), but be that as it may, I'd ask something like $10,600 "Negotiable" and see what happens.
I've had VERY good luck w/ CraigsList for cars w/ 4 color pictures.
And as far as Kim Kardashian, who would really want a spoiled brat like that at any price? You think a MB costs a lot for maintenance? You ain't seen NOTHIN' !

My daughter turns 16 in Less than two weeks, so I'm looking to buy soon.
Hey Tex: I'm located in Southern California.. wow, you're getting a benz as a starter car for your little girl? My boys are getting hondas when they turn 16 haha.. I suppose the MB's would be safer though..
Some might think they are spoiled brats, but they are quite far from it. They both deserve them. And what ever they want next is all on them. I'm done after these.
Sure, one might argue whether a 10-year old BMW or MB is a good starter for a teenager or a college student, but I'm not worried about that.
Since you already turned down the 10K offer, I guess I'm out of the picture, then. Good luck with what ever you decide to do with it, though.

i guess is because we low ball them too much for that new Lexus

Great car for a 16 year old. Five years I still have it and still love it as much as the night I drove it home from the dealership
