Accidents
Yesterday, In the span of three hours, I saw two W203's in minor accidents. Neither Benz looked like they had any damage, One of the W203's was rear ended by a ford explorer, the explorer's bumper was damaged, but no noticeable damage to the benz at all.

I mom once backed up into my car. I was home and heard a boom. The bark was louder than the bite. I went outside and her bumper kind of was bent up and nothing happened to my car (just minor scratch that just buffed out). I think these bumpers are pretty strong. I remember once seeing a segment on tv about cars that from little impacts cause the most damage and I'm sure the w203 is far from it. But then again it's all about the angle of the impact.
German engineering ftw!!! *touches wood* hope i never find out for myself how strong these mercs are..

Rubber bumper covers hide damage. My wife was rear ended in the C and it looked like minimal damage with just a repaint at most. Cost = $1400 as there was internal damage.
