Hi,
I am planning to buy a used MB. I have two options. Both for same price.
1) 2004 C-230 Kompressor with 30000 mileage.
2) 2006 C-280 with 55000 mileage.
This is for a private use (family car) and will not be driving much. Around 7000 miles an year. What should I pick ? Please help

I'd say that 2 years newer is worth a lot more than 20,000 miles. Get the '06--second last year of W203--end of model years are much more stable than earlier years (generally speaking). Plus V6, 3.0 Litre with the 280 is much preferred.

A lot depends on what kind of care they have received during their years in service. A 55K mile 06 could be in much worse condition than an 04 C230, and vice versa.

Assuming both are well maintained and in similar overall condition I, personally, would definitely go with the C280.

 

2006 C280 probably has slightly less gas mileage, but it's a straight v6.

2006 > 2004 by far for sure.
Reliability and face-lifted
I don't remember exactly, but it was face-lifted in... '05?
(I may be wrong)
