2005 Bumper Cover Question
Hey Guys and Gals,
My wife plowed over a curb and cracked the lower portion of the bumper pretty bad. (Which seems to be a common issue )
I have found some 06-07 bumpers on line that I can go with.
But I have a question that I need help with...
Will a 06-07 AMG bumper fit correctly on a 2005 Kompressor?
Thanks for all your help!!

im in the process of the same conversion. according to my research, if it is an original bumper, then it should be nearly a direct fit to your original bracket. might need a random rivet or two here or there to make it fit perfect though.

Thanks 2nice. I am nit doing a conversion, the car already has the sport bumper. I was able to buy a 06-07 unpainted bumper for only $160 shipped. All I have to do is get it painted and then install. Once the old bumper is off, I'll get it repaired the painted. That way, I'll have it as a spare when this happens again.

I think it should as long as its not the c55 front bumper.
I switched out my stock 2003 kompressor bumper with the amg and had no problems. My concern was the sizes of the bumper pads which seemed to match. Only caveat is... mine is the coupe, but I'm confident its the same with the sedan.
Goodluck!

Well, the bumper I bought showed up yesterday. All wrapped up nice. Time to get it to the body shop to fill the holes from the license plate (Oklahoma doesn't have front plates :-). And then a fresh coat of paint. Once all that is done, I'll remove the old bumper and install the new one.
The final piece of this puzzle will be to get the old bumper repaired and painted. That way I'll have a spare for when the wife does this again!! ;-)
