wierd sound

hi folks, a new owner of 2004 c230 kompressor sport. just wanted to ask if the sound is normal like an outboard motor when running slow or fast. is it the sound of the blower? sounds like an outboard motor. nothing wrong with the car when running it's just the sound is like a V8 roaring sound. thanks peeps.

Mine doesn't sound like that, although it does at times sound like a diesel.

If you're talking about the sound when the engine is cold that's the secondary air injection system which is using the blower as a pump. It is very noisy, especially in a garage. Otherwise the engine seems pretty smooth to me and has linear power delivery and a slight supercharger whine (that I love) from about 4000-6000rpm.

I'm referring to the gargling sound when cruising at 80kph and especially when you peg the gas. Cold start is fine no sound only when moving
