Question Choose one...

I'm in the market to purchase a sporty sedan. I have narrowed my choices down to the following...c230, c240, g35 and the bmw325ci. I'm looking for reliability, comfort...a smooth ride with sports appeal. I test drove all 4 listed above and enjoyed them all. Performance is a priority. Which model do you recommend?
Thanks!

i think g35 will be a good choice: cheaper in price, same kind of luxury, much more power(260hp)

all are great cars

get the c230 sedan.

this is benz board, so you know what people here are going to choose.

but if performance is a priority for you go for the g35 coupe. the sedan is butt ugly

Mine has been complimented, even envied, regularly. What so bad with that (my butt that is in case you didn't get the joke)

only thing that tick me off with the G35 sedan is the price jump of about $3k for leather! I mean the base cloth is a bargain for $28k+ but isnt the leather option along like $32k+ which is a tad above the c230 sedan category (consider the discounts they're giving).

If performance is your primary concern, then go with the G35.

All of the others (C230, C240, 325i) can be considered "quick", but not really fast.

Another consideration would be how long you intend to keep the car. The materials used by BMW and MB tend to hold up longer, and look better over time.

You can find many 10-20 year old MBs and Bimmers driving around looking (and driving) sharp.

When you see a 10-20 year old Nissan (yes, I know, but it's still a Nissan), typically the seats are worn out, the carpet is completely mashed and faded, the suspension rattles, the doors don't close with a 'thunk' anymore, etc.

If you're gonna lease or trade in 3 years, then this wouldn't be much of a consideration.

Any way you choose, they're all nice cars!

Nothing in its segment beats the C230 sedan value/dollar. If you want more performance and flash, get the G35. Although I like the look of the coupe, the rear of the sedan is just plain ugly to me.

Please define what you mean by performance? You want automatic or manual?

If you like acceleration then go with big engine = G35 and get the auto so you don't have to shift.

If you enjoy driving and likes a good handling car, go with 325i and get the sports package instead of paying for auto: they are about the same price but you will not regret the trade off... BMW with sports package is the ultimate driving machine... it's true.

The 2 Benz are a toss up. Neither is really that sporty especially when it comes to handling. C230K would be my choice. But the problem with Benz is lack of good manual transmission. The 6 speed on the C230K is really not that good.
