As I've been looking for some new things to do to the car, I saw that color coded wheels are becoming pretty popular w/the "bling bling" crowd(ex Dub magazine, sport stars etc.). Now I am not a complete "bling bling" guy, but I noticed that the three piece Lowenhart and Maya wheels look really nice color coded to the car. They only paint the center piece or the surface of the center piece while retaining the outer lip chrome. Now that will be really different! What do you guys think? Maybe I've been reading too much Dub and Rides magazines....

no, dont do that, its kind of ghetto. stick with chrome just maybe look around for a design that no one has so u can be unique in your way

Yeah, when they come out w/a new HRE design or Lowenhart design I will try and snap it up-but this time in 19's. I guess...

Leave the color coded wheels in the 80's and early 90's. Anybody remember the 88 Mazda RX-7 10th Anniversary Turbo, or the 91 Supra Turbo? I like both of the cars and I think it looked kinda cool then but not on a mercedes.

i think that black rims look cool. it also depends on what car you got. a blue slk would good with blue rims.

it really depends with each car... the 17" volvo rims i have just happen to be in the same dark grey metallic color as my volvo... and well, it's silver on silver for the c36...

depends on the car. personally i don't think it would look good on the MB. But if you got a Euro Civic type-R in pearl white, that will be hot sizzling with white rims...

I would never put white rims on anything, especially a german car because of all the brake dust. It would be even worse than it is with silver rims and it would probably start to look stained over time. I do think the Civic type r and every other Type R vehicle Honda has put out that I've seen with monochromatic wheels looks pretty cool.

It's true the Type-Rs pull off the white rims nicely. The only other thing I like is a black MB on Black rims with a polished lip. those Maya's have that nicely too...

they are deffinitly the new thing in all the dub magazines and in that scene. i think they look good especially that blue maya wheels sl with the blue wheels and the black cl with the black wheels if anyone know what im talkin about.

i think it would really depend on the car as a whole... usually, I don't think it looks too great, but I've seen a few examples of cars that did pull it off well. personally, I'd stick to silver, or maybe anthracite/gunmetal if I were getting painted wheels.

That looks good. I think white, black and silver are safe. I have visions of crx's and chevy celebrities running around with painted monochromatic rims in shades of red and blues. Ick.
