Hello,

Just purchased a 2006 C230 and trying to work out all the kinks. I noticed that the headlight switch dial doesn't illuminate. Is that a fuse or a bulb issue? Didn't find any answers on the forum.

Im not sure if the dial itself actually illuminates. The markings on the dash around the dial do for sure though.

Ill check for you next time Im in my car.

Actually, that's exactly what's not illuminating the marks on the dash around dial. The dial itself is iluminating the the mirror buttons above as well.

OK...thats weird!

I checked on my 02 coupe, and the dial itself doesnt light up, but the marks around it for the different headlight settings and the side mirror adjustment markings do.

You should probably check with someone with your same model year car. I find it hard to believe that only the headlight marks on the dash went out while the mirror markings illuminate.

Maybe thats how its supposed to be.

The symbols around the headlight switch do not light up. This "feature" was removed by the idiotic fools at mercedes some time around 2005. I took my 05 C class apart and soldered in the resistors and LEDs to make it light up. Just bought a 2012 C and it still doesn't light up. It's the most important switch to have illuminated! Freaking idiots!

From what I read, this omission may be specific to the US models only (for reasons that can't possibly be explained rationally).
