I never thought that a 7 year old car with 129,500 miles could be "in its prime". But my car has never been better than it is right now. I've finally gotten used to not babying it with the broken mounts and I'm really enjoying it again.
I'm taking it to Gainesville, FL this weekend to spend some time with Drew..

A 7-year-old car SHOULD be in its prime. Marketing's just told us differently.
Local indy told me on Sat that there's no reason for a Benz to go under 200k. I tend to believe that for most Benzes except for 2001-early 2003 C's.

I don't know.. the Benz is now the oldest and highest mileage car I've owned and yet it is clearly less tired at this point than the others were at less age/mileage.

hey lilc dont suppose you have a step by step for that fuel mod and tire press mod. I drop by a "MB Indy shop" the other day and I'm hoping they have the STAR program if they're working on MB, especially since I saw what looked to be some newer models in they're spaces and I'd like to take that to em and see what they can do.

psshhh Tommy, I feel like any MB can make it to 200k (even my abused 2001), or rather any car can make it. The likelihood of getting to that sort of mileage is just a matter of how much the owner cares for the car. I see lil's car and how well its treated and foresee it getting to 200k!
edit: crap, i just realized my car is ~11 years old!

I don't know - the way he's going, Matt's going to have canards on the front end, curb feelers on the back, and a hollow cat and fake BOV in between. That can't be good for longevity.

Tommy hasn't announced it publicly yet, but he's ditched his coupe for a sedan.. a late-90s Maxima sedan that is. I spotted him the other day:

I got a chance to see and ride in Matt's car in person on a recent trip to Atlanta, and it looks every bit as good as the pics show. It amazes me how well these cars age. You would never guess that Matt's car had 128K without actually seeing it on the odometer.

And it's 100x better now than it was that weekend. Flex discs and O2 sensors are up next but the difference in how it drives, rides, and handles is amazing with the new engine/transmission mounts.
