How to Turning off/minimize blinking sound/noise w203 coupe

Hey guys
I got my w203 Coupe 2005 now, i enjoy the car. But fast ran into something very fustrating and irritating.. When you blink!

I mean its a must to have really loud music to not hear the ticking sound from when you blink. I think it is really loud compared to other cars i have driven and it drives me crazy!!

Any way to minimize the ticking sound or turning it off (may not be legal)?

First of all.. I don't think you should mess with that. It may be irratating, but that blinking sound is in every car.

I think there is a relay that does this sound, don't know if it easy to get to or what not.

Once again, just get used to it. It's a saftey feature in general. Let's say if someone else is driving the car, would this put them in an unsafe condition? I know it's not much, but still, not worth the risk.

Just my 2 cents.

I'd suggest upping your meds a smidge. It should really be very low on your list of annoyances with the coupe. If not, wait til your first real repair bill.

LOL....First of all its no longer an actual relay clicking. It used to be an actual relay making the sound while turning on/off in cars in the 60's/70's.

However once technology evolved, these clicking relays were no longer needed, but the sound is now artificially produced to simulate clicking relays because of the multitude of safety features that it allows. The pitch and volume of the noise is also carefully modulated so that it annoys the human ear and will force people to switch it off when its not needed.

And yeah...like Tommy said, even if you could turn it off, that should be the least of your concerns!

It could be worse. I would bet someone at DIN suggested a device to kick the back of your seat like a six year old on a flight to Singapore, if you turn the wheel without signaling.
