2003 c240 4matic wagon I have the base system with cd changer I purchased another c240 radio (part#'s are the same as my orig radio) from a member who had done the tape player/ipod mod so today i installed it and it worked great for about 10 mins

I pulled it back out inorder to route the ipod jack wire reinstalled radio and after 30 secs i got on the screen PROD turned it off and back on after 30 secs same thing PROD

checked connections I did NOT bend the orange wire at all!!!

reinstalled orig radio and same thing PROD did it 2x then its been ok since everything works

so whats the problem with the other deck why wont it work in my car??? part # was a203 820 25 86

it sounds like the other head unit needs to be coded for your car. (this is my assumption so dont quote me on it.)

Connect the new radio and disconnect the fuse on the back for like 20 seconds and see if that fixes it. It did for me.

so connect new radio do i need to have it on or off?

key in or out?

I did not have mine on and key was not in since the radio always has power.

Ok ill try it on sunday if not i guess ill use my orig radio and do the mod myself now that i can look at the modded one to see exactly what i need to do
