Windshield stone-chip
Hi guys.
Needless to say, this never happened with my prev. american cars but sure enough after only 4 weeks owning a C-coupe I get a quarter-size stone-chip right on my windshield. It happened on the highway, coming back from skiing. Must have been a seriusly sized rock, the bang was pretty loud.
From what I can tell it's pretty deep and ugly. I'll try to get it "repaired" at an auto-glass place and maybe replace the windshield after the winter is over.
Advises are welcome.

My friend had that happen to his truck twice, while Cal-Trans was doing some road work. He got them to pay the bill, with very little difficulty. All he did was call up or something and then sent in a quote on how much the work would cost, and they sent him a check.
Don't know if they do this in Canada but its worth a try. After all your taxes pay to maintain those roads.

As long as the chip isn't all the way through the glass...and it hasn't started to 'craze'...a good glass shop can repair it with epoxy resin. Some places might refuse to repair it if they feel it poses a safety hazard.
