Mine are already taped so I can't answer you. So why don't you try that on your car and let us know whether the signal can still pass through the paint or not??

i have heard that the signal still passes through the paint...i will try it, when i pull my car out of storage...about 2 weeks...i will paint my grill at the same time....thanks for the feedback 20FHK02
