hahah.. yes, some of you would like to think that mercedes created an entirely new design.. but I think the roots of the design stems from the corrado still. *Flame suit on*

This topic has been mentioned before. As a former Corrado owner, I agree with the comparison. For me, it was a great car until a BMW rear ended me at a light; then, my car was nothing but a headache until I traded for another problem car-- Saab.
Ok, they have hatchbacks and two doors. The comparison begins to pale from there- The Corrado styling has more creases than a modern Cadillac, its FWD, has a blunt squared sedan nose, etc...
A picture of an old Supra(80s) looks more like the Cprrado than the MB does.

It's not just that they both have hatchbacks and two doors... plenty of cars are hatchbacks with two doors that don't resemble the Corrado or the coupe. I think there's a definately some resemblence in the overall shape, but some people seem to take offense when people bring up this subject.
But, I agree that both are much different that a Civic Hatch or Golf...but cars like the RSX and Celica also 'mock' the coupe profile, when they are both hatches.
I just don't see how the topic is relevant.
I disagree that the Corrado has an old school coupe look...frankly a Pinto hatchback looks more like the Corrado than the coupe does? So what does this mean?

btw, don't you guys forget about the market failiure e36 compact that has much more to do with the creation of the C-coupe.
