Then you'll know how useless this item is from a functional point of view. Let's not pretend that it's one of the "track" modifications...

I never did.. i know damn well that the purpose of this is clearly aesthetic..and i do like the look of it.. Especially with the car lowered and the 19's it looks more agressive.. However everyone seems to think it looks like a 14 foot high piece of sheet metal on the back of a 96 Civic DX.. It is actually very small.. If you havent seen it in person.. Don't judge it based on the Extremely off-center picture on MBUSA.. that picture looks like it was taken with a Fish-Eye lense as it is nowhere near spec...

as long as its OEM accessory i dont think its a big deal. and so whats wrong if it look like an OEM accord or camry accessory, its the generic sedan spoiler that everyone use. Its by no mean ugly (like the ones on Pontiac sedans...aka bat wing). i bought the renntech spoiler for the coupe a while back but after having it for a few weeks decided to not install and sell it (purely financial reason...would have loved to keep it). The AMG coupe spoiler is tiny (kinda like the E46 M3s) and the cost is really not worth it (something like $200 for a stick-on plastic strip?) when BMW dealers only charges about $90 for the M3 "spoiler".

*We used to get E46 M3 spoilers on the Audi A4 sedans so I think its universal enough for you C sedan owners as well, someone should try to see if it will look/fit right on the boot of the sedan. just a suggestion.

I have the AMG spoiler for the C230K coupe. I only got it this week. The only reason I did not buy it sooner was because it wasnt offered to me when I bought the car and I didnt know AMG made a rear spoiler until very recently. I had searched for a while and could only find the spoiler from Rentech. Their spoiler isnt bad, but I thought it was a bit too boisterous. The AMG wing looks "right" on the car.

Tommy........yeah, but like you said to Alex, I like it Besides, I had this big phat aluminum wing that stood about a foot over the rear deck. Unfortunately, the Spanish guy who I stole it off of came and took it back and put it back on his Hyundai Elantra Low Rider LMAO

I don't like that spoiler. Makes the car look like a Camry or Accord. The others look better.

Well, it's not too obnoxious, but it is not the greatest look, just hard to get used to on a Benz.

I had a spoiler on my 1991 Prelude(LED--hot technology for 1991), and that looked awesome. Some of the BMWs look okay with a spoiler.

Remember the Benz 190E 2.3-16 -- the first AMG collaboration and it had a spoiler....

Bottom line, i think spoilers are just a little too rice-ish for a Benz....

Alex, it looks really nice - clean and simple, though not as simple as the "r1ce" comments that you'll continue to get.

Ignore 'em, and remember this is a Benz forum - need a crowbar to open up them minds.

And thank you for having one It is an OEM part.. and to me if it was designed to fit on the car its not rice..(in most cases) Its not overstated or huge... Myself.. i am a die hard rice hater.. just wanted a little agressive look.. Within the next month.. new pics will be posted w/ BBK and coil-overs and what not..

Tomorrow i will post pictures of my Custom wheels

It's not ricey at all

...but I still prefer the car without it. As the French say "à chaq'un son goût".

It probably adds some rear downforce at the expense of Cd, but as I wrote before, I doubt the extra negative lift is necessary, even at speeds in excess of those imposed by the car's limiter. I'm just not a huge fan of styling tweaks without some functional reason for them.

You like it, that's good enough for me.

Well, i tend to do the exact opposite of what the French say. By the way, what does "à chaq'un son goût" mean? "A gunshot? We Surrender!"? LOL

Désolé Sparky, j'ai utilisé un mauvais orthographe. C'est donc "à chaqu'un son goût". Et maintenant tu comprends, n'est pas?

Ok, it means "do not stick your head up your ****".

You really should try to follow the French more often. You might even learn a thing or three

I agree, Alex. The MBUSA picture is not flattering at all.

I have the spoiler on my C320 4matic as well and absolutely love it. It most definitely adds to the sportiness of the vehicle and I have had absolutely nothing but compliments from other MB owners on it.

Here's the interesting thing...I bought mine from formymercedes.com, and it's identical to the OEM part except that it's MUCH lighter so that it allows the trunklid to pop open. With the OEM wing, the trunklid doesn't pop open any longer. Aside from that, it was also much less expensive at only $349 painted

Chrome door handle shells actually. The car comes with the chrome accents on top of the painted handles. The shells protect the paint behind the handles from getting scratched up. Mine already had fine scratches after a couple of months of ownership.

As for the mirrors, I've always been a fan of the Audi S4's mirrors which are similar in style. All of Audi's "S" models have them as well.
