Resistor

does anyone know how to trick your cars computer to thinking theres a light in the side lens? i read where you would need a resistor, but does anyone know how to go about installing it?

I've seen the items you are talking about. The ones I have seen require you to splice into the factory wiring.

You have several options.
1) The one mentioned by awiner.
2) Remove the bulb and attach it to the contact points within the bulb socket.

Use whichever is easier for you. Just make sure you get the correct resistance value and at a minimum a wattage rating equal to the bulb.
