I have a 05 c230 and 2 messages started to show up yesterday. They are "Tail Lamp Left" and "Backup Light On". I have checked the lights and all are working fine. The other funny thing is that the messages will go away after driving for a little wile and then turning the car off then back on; after doing this the messages do not come back; but let the car sit for a bit and then start the car the messages come back again. I have changed the tail lights to an LED style, they have been installed for about a year now with no issues. Again all bulbs are working 100%. I would be greatful for any help in this matter.

Also does any one have any recomdations for new tail lights if it turns out that these are bad?

pull the lights and look for resistors melting that could be the issue and clean the connections.

what did you do with the Old Tail lights? :-) selling them?

i only have one housing but still have both bulb holders and am willing to sell them.

replace the bulbs and check for any license plate lights issue
