Resonator delete?

Just wondering if anyone has done a resonator delete on a V6 C230. I have a manual if that helps lol. I dont see the point of gettin an exhaust because the car is dog slow, i just want a lil bit more sound.

Depending on how much you guys are willing to spend, our cars actually make pretty good noise!
A simple resonator delete will increase its sound, but I personally dont like it

This is what I did to my car:
The Cat goes to a resonator, the resonator connects to a WidePipe, that becomes 2 WidePipes, with no Muffler, leading to Quad Tips
This cost me around 350$ (A pretty good deal in my opinion)

If not a full exhaust system then I guess you could go with the res delete

Try to find youtube videos of our cars with different setups and see what you like

I think stock exhaust sound is perfect on C230(I know it's slow...). I had 06 C230SS and it's quiet when I want it and loud on WOT. They got this exhaust system perfect. If you look at the exhaust tubing it's quiet thick too which is good for performance. I wouldn't touch it but that's just me.

If you want to keep the stock look and not use a diffuser, Check out rollnnn's setup

That one is cut

There are many different approaches to modding your bumper for a duel exhaust or quad exhaust

Cutting another slot on the passenger side, its a pretty clean approach
Adding a diffuser and cutting the passenger side, its a more aggressive look
Painting the bottom of your bumper black

Get creative!

Cut out the resonator and welded in a straight pipe

Well what you can do is measure the driver side slot, then draw an outline on the passenger side, mask it out with tape, and cut with tin snippers...

Or just pay someone to do it haha

How does the volume sound inside the car? I'm thinking of doing this but does it have a constant drone to it? I like how our cars have that "engine oomph" when down gearing and given some throttle but I don't want an exhaust sound that goes WAY over my speakers or gets annoying.

Yes, there is a constant drone. At first it's not that bad but magnaflow exhausts do get louder over time. If you're not a fan of cabin noise I would opt for a different exhaust system than magnaflow. Maybe flowmaster.

I have a V6 with no resonator or cats. 2.5 piping to the exhaust and when the pipes get hot it gives off a deep throaty note. You might want to add a glasspack that way it wont be too raspy.

Your car probably sounds like a Jet hahah

The guy who made my setup suggested keeping the resonator to reduce raspy-ness in the tone
so maybe deleting the muffler, getting a magnaflow resonator, and wide pipes will be a good option..
thats something like mine

Haha funny now i know who you are i actually got motivated to do this after watching your video on youtube car sounded amazing. Btw its not raspy at all deleting the resonator just made it a lil more throaty and deeper.

Not at all! It sounds pretty good actually for no cats or resonator. Under WOT it really opens up. I need to start shaing more videos/pics of my car.

Lol really? I did it a while back and havent changed my set up. We have the same displacement so your car should sound the same. No cels popped up and yes it does get louder. One thing i recommend is the glasspack though.

Where do you recommend I get the work done? Your set up sounds nice, any effects on performance when removing the cats/resonator/muffler?

I wonder how it would sound on the m271

I dont know, we live in different places and the results may VARY. I know it wont sound as good as a V6, just saying. To be honest it was hard to tell. I didnt notice any gains, thats for sure.

I read that N/A engines work better if the back pressure is there but as for forced induction, deleting your cats and resonator frees up HP. Correct me if im wrong.
