Comand (MCS-II) Software/firmware updates?
I just finished putting an '05 MCS-II DVD nav unit (pn A2038701189) into my '07 C230.
I got it working, but it doesn't have the "compass" mode soft button, and it seems to have a problem with MP3 disks.
I've read both of these issues may have been solved with software/firmware updates. I went to the dealer today and they said they couldn't sell me update disks, but that updates have to be performed by the dealer (because of PIN number issues or some such).
Can anyone tell me if this is really the case?
If it is, why have I run across "update disk" part numbers? Are these for the older (pre-facelift) W203 nav? Or are they for the Euro APS system?
