2002 C240 Classic - Orion Blue Beast!!
Whoa Baby! I'm back, and so is my stereo static!! Question for all of you.
Hello everyone. Last year I posted about the CD changer in my 2002 C240 emitting static from the speakers when played for more than 10 minutes in warm weather.
Took it in to the dealer last September. They re-installed the CD and said everything looked OK (wires, etc) Well, the weather got colder then so the problem never came back. I was hoping it was fixed, but it's not.
It has started happenning again. Now it happens with the radio as well. If I'm listening to FM for more than 10 minutes on a hot day the reception will cut out and static will come out of the speakers. Haven't tried AM.
In the thread I posted last year someone was nice enough to cut and paste an MBUSA TSB outlining CD static. My problem seems to go beyond this.
Has anyone else had this problem with the radio and CD? Anyone know what the cause was? How was it fixed?
I'd like to go back to my dealer armed with some knowledge.
Thanks guys!
