Latch Kit for Baby Seat
For those of you using a baby seat in the back of a C-Class... the car is equipped with the new "Latch System" for easy and safe attachment of baby seats.
That means that instead of using the seat belt, there are two small metal loops on each rear seat for attaching a baby seat to.
You can attach any conventional baby seat by using a "latch kit" belt. Amazon has two common models for sale at $24.99, they both look exactly alike.
Cosco Latch Kit
Evenflo Latch Kit
I just got the Evenflo version.

baby, baby seat, diapers, baby food, crib, baby bedroom furniture, baby clothes, baby wipes, baby shoes, baby doctor, baby sitter, baby bottles, baby chair, etc...
It's amazing, they come with NO options... you have to add EVERYTHING after market... Plus you are forced to endure all those Teletubbies, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Bob the Builder TV shows.
Well, SpongeBob is not too bad...

Figured I'd better chime in.
To those installing car seats, did you know to completely pull out the seat belt, then let it reel back in. You will feel it clicking while it reels in. Then it is 'locked' to the length you leave it at. It really helps to snug down the carseats.
BTW - I can't wait 'till the kids are OUT of car seats. I use the carseats religiously, but I hate them.

rick, i took your advice and i found the evenflo latch kit at toysrus. works fine even in my century seat! i can't believe i waited for the century kit which i could never find.
the latch system in the merc are little flip out rings. in the bmw, they're sort of covered w/ plastic lifts/caps. and LATCH will be standard in all cars by september 2002.
