First cut!!!
MY C230 sport sedan is about a month old with 262 miles on it. I got on the freeway (I-680 heading towards Livermore) & went to put gas today (the first tank ever). I was next to the passing lane & all of a suddent, an empty soda can appeared out of nowhere, hit my front bumper. I thought, that empty can won't do any harm. But when I got home, I was surprised of those big scratches ( and a chipped paint ) on my bumper (deep, too), went to the body shop right away, and was quoted a $600+ damaged! 
A week after the car had arrived, I went to the same body shop to have them put the 3M bra on. THe first time they had ran out of material & had to reschedule. Then the week after that they had ordered/gotten the wrong bra (received the one for the coupe instead of the sport sedan, they insisted that it's the only kompressor model...) so my wife said to forget it, wait until they have the info. for my car before putting them on. Two weeks later, this happened.
Damn those people who threw that can out!!!

Ask the body shop to do the Bra for free after fixing it at a discount. Remind them of the mass histeria you went through trying to get that bra put on in the first place. Had it been there, yada yada yada...

I Would Try another Body SHop..the $600.00 figure is High for a clean up and respray..there are several in So cal That WILL Do It For a LOT Less..and Do a Great Job!

I thought a blend paint would be cheaper than a complete respray but...
