CanadianSteel and his C class

Ok, so I've had my car for just over a year now. I intend to keep it for many more. When i first thought about buying a C class W203 i came on here and went though hundreds of pages on mbworld looking for tips, repair costs and overall reliability of the C class.
Johns thread in particular was a huge help for me. not only that, it was a great example of how to really take care of a car.
So with all that in mind I've decided to create my own thread to document my experience with the W203.
My own little place to share the good and the bad to the rest of the MB owners as well as potential owners. Who knows maybe i can help someone that was in my shoes a year ago decide that getting a W203 is right for them.

I bought the car with 48,000Km on it, cost me about 15k. Not a bad price up here in Canada. Note that it is a fairly basic C class with no nav, leather ect.

One of the first things i did was get a nice aluminum pedal set. Now i'm not a fan of the whole AMG on a non AMG car, but its just a pedal set, it looks great and the price was right.
The other thing i got was a stainless exhaust tip. Looked great and was a big improvement on the rear of my w203. The one thing i didn't like about the rear was the exhaust.

Service B came up and i got it done at the dealer. All things normal but the bill was around $300 or so
The tip i got for my car was not looking great at all. It looks like it's hanging down but it as tight as i can get it. Looks this way even today. This is one mod i almost regret as i should have maybe went with an AMG tip.

At about 65K the windshield wash stopped working. After trying everything i took it to the dealer (under warranty) and it needed a new comb switch. So i paid the deductible and was on my way.

Also i noticed at this time that the 3rd brake light was cracked as well as the rear MB emblem. Was not happy as the damage was not there when i bought the car Ordered a new 3rd brake light ($120) as well as an emblem from one of our fourm venders

Replaced a brake light, side marker light and a low beam head lamp bulb between 65k and 70k.

Also replaced wiper blades a few days ago. Got them from the dealer for $45, not bad if you ask me. Funny how they came with the MB star emblem on the wiper and the factory ones didn't....Will post pics when i get home.

so other then that the car has been great for the first year. It now has 75,500 kms on her. Over the 25k km I've put on the car my overall avg was 9l per 100k mixed driving with my best at 6.9l per 100k highway.
