Read the owners manual. It's all there.

Uh.. It's not you. I found that as the car gets older, this function seems to be a hit and miss. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Haven't figure out why, some say, just replace the sensor, but that spells $$$. Then you would ask, is it worth it to have this for the amount of $$$ you put in?

Mind as well, just put the key in and open up the windows.

This feature has always been temperamental with my car even since it had 25000 miles. The sensor was replaced under warranty. Still sometimes it acts like it is going to not work.. however, it always does. Try it over and over, it'll probably work on the second or third attempt.

haha.. I am sure it will eventually work if you tried it X amount of times. But that defeats the intended purpose originally when you want to use that feature and end up just satisfying your ??? and anger of why it's not working. I was in that spot many times.

Now, for sanity, mind as well just skip the key opening window part and just plug the key in the car and open up the windows. It's much faster and give you a more satisfying result.

Mine always works without fail, no problems, from hundreds of feet away. Of course, you'd have to spend a little money that you'll probably want to use on 10 cans of Plastidip instead.

plastidip craziness lately.

Now, now Tommy.. They're not even designed to work from 100s of feet away.

That's why you go aftermarket. It's the viagra of window opening features.

There is a way to test to see if you key is working.

Just get a camera that has does video recording. Point the key and press the button. If you see the video recording lit up then the IR is working and it's not the key issue.

More than likely it's the Sensor at the door that is not functioning. Again, this is expensive and not worth the money to fix.

THE C350
They are a common issue sadly. My car has two and sadly just a few weeks ago discovered one of mine no longer works 100% of the time.
