Sorry for the uninformed question what does a LSD give me that my ESP does not. Doesn't the ESP in slippery conditions have the same effect ie limiting wheel spin and gaining traction? The only thing that I can see is that besides working as a stability aid (esp), the lsd does not reduce the engine power like the esp does

Please inform the uniformed on this piece of hardware

ESP is only question of wheels traction by reducing the speed. LSD ( with variable locking) transfer the power at the who have the maximum grip on the road and try in straight line to balance 50/50 the power at the wheels. If look your back tire normally you have one tire more used of the other because your diff doesn't balance properly the power. If you want more detail you can go on the quaife web site.
