Summer feature window roll down key

Just wondering. Is there a fuse for this component.

Summer feature window roll down with key.

This is where the IR key can roll down the windows from outside in conjunction of the black small box on the driver's droor.

If there is a fuse, please advise.

I recall it working with both keys and now it doesn't anymore. I do recall having the software upgraded at the dealership, could this have been turned off from the new software by mistake with star?

I believe that no, it would not be turned off. Most likely the receiver in the door isn't working anymore. Do a search - this has been the subject of several threads.

Did a search. Nothing about fuse. That is why I asked. I was hoping there is a fuse and it makes things easier, now more than likely it's a dead sensor. Doubt I am going to fix it since it will cost a leg and I rarely use it.

It is too bad that it's not something simpler like a fuse. I guess it's just another example of Mercedes' excellence in engineering.

The feature is stupid and has always been hit or miss with my car - and my sensor was replaced under warranty. You have to stand right at the door to get it to work, what's the point?

I tried it again, but this time, I tried it while it was in my garage.

What do you know, it worked. First try. Rolled up and down.

So now I am thinkiny, it has something to do with the sun. If recalls, the day it didn't work was when the sun is full blown on the driver side. In the garage, no sun and dim.

This works with the ir receiver which in oart has to receive light signal. Too bright might present the ir signal from receiving.

Now, the real question is, why don't they make this wireless signal instead of the stupid ir light signal. Cost too much perhaps? I am sure it will be more useful with the radio signal.

THE C350
Well they want it IR for two reasons
1. they want you to have a visual on the car to make sure you you don't hurt someone.
2. They want you to look like a ***** while using the feature.

LOL - I think that's in the owner's manual.

I guess I'm the only one to solve this problem so far.
