C240 e-brake shoes replacement

Has anybody done this themselves? Any tips/ tricks?

Does the rear spindle axle nut have to come off? Or can it be done with the hub still in place?

Hello.

Here's the best I've got off the top of me head after hitting the bar... Hope it helps:

Megadeth is guiding me right now.

Remove the wheel and set aside.
A mallet/punch should remove the pin holding the spring for the brake pads.
Pull the pads out. Now remove the 2 screw/bolts holding the brake caliper and carefully set aside.

Remove the torx (sorry, don't know what size ATM) screw holding the brake disc.
Yank the disc off.
Now the e-brake shoes you wish to change should be visible.
The cable and springs may be difficult to transfer, but that's part of the fun of working on yer car, right?

Let us know if this was able to help, perhaps others could benefit also.

Back to Megadeth, good luck!
