panarama sunroof problem on C230 coupe
When I got the car a few weeks ago something was broken that made it so you can't open the sunroof. The previous owner had a body get the sunroof closed but did not have the.broken part replaced. I would like to get it fixed but I don't know what is broken and don't know where to get it. I'm afraid to open it myself because the previous owner had so much trouble getting it closed. On the passenger side the glass is not down all the.way in the back so I'm assuming that is the broken side. Air whistles in that spot as well. What should I do?

Well my curiousity got the best of me. I went ahead and opened it some. There's a little plastic looking bracket in the back passenger side corner that's broken and I can see some screws have been removed in the front and rear on the passenger side. Does anyone know where I can get these parts?

Yea I've been asking around about good body shops in my area who can fix it. Going to have to wait til Monday to make any calls I guess

If you search there are numerous threads about repairing the pano sunroof.
And even DIY's complete with pics and everything.
One fix simply involves using some metal washers to straighten out the motor gear so it aligns correctly, other fixes involve replacing the motor or motors (one for the roof, one for the shade).
Then there's cables that break, and finally, I recall reading something about the guides, which I think might be really bad.
Read up before you let a shop loose on it.
They always seem to come up with an estimate of 3 grand to fix, and then after getting informed here, people DIY some washers and fix it for $3.

mercedes parts sites that sell genuine factory parts, like getmercedesparts.com
PN's on the epc have an 'A' in front of them.
Remove the A when searching for prices.
