Cigarette / power port behind arm rest

Hi guys, first time poster with a question.

I removed the little door that holds the lighter an d ash tray. I am trying to disconnect the electric connectors on this cigarette lighter but can't get to spades. I assume there is some way to pop the lighter out, but for the life of me ca not get it. The spades are tight against the plastic and bent to fit. My car is 2006 C280 4Matic.

I appreciate any help.

As for me, I had a problem with this item as well. The darn thing is always lose. It yaps around while I drive. I close it and it opens back up. Seems to be a loose metal clamp or something. Anyone with a fix on this to keep it close?

If not, anyway to remove this as OP noted. I am intersted in replacing as well to stop the yapping of this cover.
