Rear suspension help

Ok, so over the past few weeks i have had a knocking in the right rear of the car. It happens only on rough roads at lower speeds, highway driving is fine. I have had an independent shop as well as a MB dealership take a look and inspect it. They both tell me everything's fine. WTF? i'm not imagining the noise! The guy at MB told me that the rear suspension on the W203 was bullet proof, and that if anything, it "may" be the coil spring....
I want to fix my car but nobody will give me a straight answer here. Hoping to get some feed back from others in my place. The knocking sounds like the strut is toast as i have had them fail on other non MB cars. But i don't know what to buy, Mount? Shock? Spring?

Frustrating to say the least...

TY in advance.

2003 c240 4matic wagon
the springs are known to break right on the bottom coil CAN be tough to spot jack it up from the jacking point (so the suspension can drop) take the wheel off and really look at the bottom of the rear springs BOTH mine broke on my 03 c240 4matic wagon at under 120,km

Could be springs, wheel bearing, control arm bushings.

Sorry to bump this up, but i inspected everything and can't find a thing wrong...I'm at the point now that i'm just going to have to start throwing parts at it and hope the banging goes away sooner rather then later....what i would like is a suggestion of what to replace first. Mount? Shock?

Thanks

Is it wagon?

Try to remove spare tire - i have exactly same symptoms, it looks like my spare tire compartment is loose somewhere and makes that kind of noise.
