Sprocket issue
Just wondering.. For those who have experiences or heard about the sprocket issues with our cars, what are the initial signs before this became a problem. Of course, most of those who had experience this maybe too late. But what I am looking for is, prior to finding this dreaded news, what did they experience. Noise? Shaking? Vibrations? Slow? CEL? Anything?
Please note so others can be aware of this initial issue and consider checking out the sprocket issues.
Of course, this has to do with timing issues as well.

DTB is around here somewhere. Posted numerous times....
CEL's for sure. DTB describes symptoms.

I posted the service bulletin in that thread.
Things you can do to see if you are effected:
1)Check your engine serial number and see if you are in the range of effected engines.
2)Run some oil analysis and check for wear metals. If your numbers are outside the universal averages, you may have the problem.
3)Wait for the appropriate DTC's to pop up.
The reality is, even if your engine is one of the effected ones, there is a possibility, you may never see a problem. It is a crap shoot.
