My 55w did not melt the housing. But I only did that to circumvent having to set Xenon=Present because back then I did not own Samaritrey and he did not own STAR. Now I have 35w bi-xenon depo projectors. They're quite good, very happy.

Don't exceed 6000k.. headlights are not merely for aesthetics, they are safety features.

I'm currently running the 50w version with no issues (melting harness, flicker, BOW errors) at this time. I think 35w is more than safe, but 50w will increase light intensity. Also, I feel I have a pretty decent projector bulb cutoff and have not had to re-aim my stock projectors. I've owned several vehicles in the past with stock HIDs and the cutoff line in my MB is very similar without unnecessary or protruding glare. Just my two-cents.
