2003 C230k with 3000 miles, has auto trans, C2 pkg.....Can be bought for $27k...What do you guys think? From the looks of it, I can get a similarly equipped new 2003 C230k for around $30k.

First of all we have to know where you are located as different parts of the country have different prices. SoCal probably being the lowest.

Here is what the auctions say as a July 03 projection:
03 C230K Coupe: miles between 400 and 4000; avg condition;
Wholesale ~ 23150, retail ~ 23700

The projection also shows an increasing trend in value for August 03.

Hope that helps.

Was this a loaner car? A demo car? Or perhaps it was traded in because of problems (which the dealer has now fixed)? The answers to these questions would make a huge differenct to me. If I was unsure, I guess I would rather spend the extra $3k to get a new one...

Thanks for the thoughts.....This is a sedan and it is located in SoCal. I was told that the car was traded in on a new E-class because the previous owner thought the C-class was too small. Can you post auction prices for C230k sedans?

Is there a way to see if the car has ever been brought in for service? Something doesn't smell right to me. If someone did as you say, the must have taken a large hit on the car when they traded it in.

Thanks for the info...It sounds like the price is good based on the auction values, I'll see if I can find out any add'l info on the car...
