Install was super simple, all you do is unscrew the 4 screws that you can access from your trunk. Then the tails come off and you put the new ones in place and re screw them in.
Sorry to hear all the trouble you had to go threw to get them. I am super happy with the ones off germany ebay, I would recommend them, be prepared for a wait though. Took mine about a month to come.

Those look like the same ones i bought only thing is the ones I got were from a different seller, I think its the same headlights though.

I'm still plagued with the stock pink faded originals. I called and get mercedes parts dot com said that according to their computer they should receive my 05 tails tomorrow and that I should get them early-to-mid next week. Its been over a month now that my order for these 05 tails has been outstanding. First they sent me stock 03 pink tails. Ugh! Then they ordered 05's again but they came damaged to them so they re-ordered them again. The re-ordered ones are the ones that are supposed to get delivered to them tomorrow. Of course I got a track event next week when they are supposed to arrive so I won't know 100% for sure if I indeed actually got 05 tails this time until Thursday night or Friday. Fingers crossed...

After all this time I finally got the 05 tails package delivered. Sadly and frustratingly get mercedes parts dot com sent me 05 tails for a sedan and not a coupe! I called and at this point I'm just returning all of them (I have two incorrect sets of tail light assemblies i.e. not what I ordered) -- unbelievable!!!

Also I installed the 05 tails, but I am in San diego currently and don't have any pictures of them installed on my laptop. I will post some pics as soon as I get home!

I paid $1,750 for all the parts and labor out the door. I think the bumper repaint alone was somewhere around $400, they did a really good job on it though

Chapter 4: 05 Tails
After the month long wait for the 05 tails to come I finally got them! I bought them off german ebay. Install was very simple, just 4 screws basically. Love the updated look they give the car.

If you can believe it, I'm *still* dealing with the aftermath of get mercedes parts dot com messing up my order for 05 tails, sending me the wrong tails, me trying to return them and for that purchase to be taken off my credit card! Its almost been 3 months elapsed time now! Ugh!...

Wow looks like you've really been threw a lot trying to get the 05 tails, after all of that settles up do you plan on still ordering 05 tails off german ebay?

I have an eBay account, but I never bought anything outside the US before and not sure how that works.

What other projects do you have going? Also its basically the same as making any other ebay purchase, you use paypal and everything else the same. I would recommend having google translate handy considering every things in german.

I'm building a Porsche dedicated track car while still modding my twin turbo 135 (current dual purpose until Porsche is done) street tuner. Plus trying to dial in and slowly mod the C230K Coupe for my son. :p

Thanks, I've had a few in my day. A '67 Pontiac GTO back in the 90's when I was all about straight line speed and lifting the front wheels off the ground at every stop sign and red light. 
Then when I grew tired of the "ride" being over in only 10 seconds I "graduated" to racing go-karts on road courses and got myself a used Porsche 993C2S -- wish I still had that car. A drunk driver hit me head-on on a two-lane back road, I was going the posted 35mph and he hit me head-on at over 60mph. That put me several months in rehab. I had an 04 STi for a few years, that car was a TON of fun -- extremely capable in all weather conditions. I can still remember driving in 4 or 5 inches of snow in just all-season radials driving 45mph while everyone else was going 10 or 15mph like they were standing still rooster-tailing snow at all 4 corners -- man, that car could just find you grip! TONs of FUN! I had a used E36 M3 for a few years, that was a cool car. Now I got a C300 4Matic for the wife and the C230K Coupe for my son and I have my 135 street tuner and a Nissan Titan to tow the Porsche to/from the track.

Chapter 5:New Tires
The previous tires on the coupe were some knock off chines tires that didnt even work in the rain. Since rainy season is right around the corner and the tires were not safe to drive in the rain I decided its time for some new tires. I have bought 4 sets of tires from my local Big-O tires so I went there and they hooked it up as always. Went with SAILUN: ATREZZO Z4+AS in the same size as the previous tires (225/40/18) all around and also a fresh alignment. Has a great improvement in handling and traction now. Also I am missing a center cap now, randomly noticed that one of the wheels center caps were missing one day, hopefully I can find a replacement for it, but i haven't had to much luck in finding one so far.

Did you go back to the place that mounted and balanced your tires to see if they still have your center cap? The tire place I used to go to constantly would forget valve stem caps, center caps -- it was extremely frustrating! Another tire place opened up even closer to my house now and I've used them and so far no issues (fingers crossed). Hopefully they still have your center cap...

05 tails are amazing, Get some! The person I bought mine from still has some for sale on german ebay. The center cap went missing before I had the new tires put on
