I think the time for me to get rid of the sedan is coming. I am starting to get tired of it to be honest. I am stuck between selling it now and getting a C55 or a CLK55. Only thing is I really want a white C55 which is almost impossible to find, I found a black C55 that I went and saw today but the milage was a little to high for what I was looking for. The CLK55 seems to be really rare and harder to find, but the C55's body is to close to what I have now, I sort of want to mix it up. I was also thinking about selling the sedan now, saving the money, driving the coupe for a while until the 2012 facelifted w204s fall in price a bit and I buy a used one of those. So give me some opinions

C55? CLK55? or wait and go for a w204?

I think the clk55 looks nicer than the c55. But I would go with the w204s just because it has the newer face lift.

Autotrader has a white '06 C55 in Fresno...it's my car's doppelganger other than my Ash Nappa leather. Has Bird's Eye trim, BiX and Navi. Price is the same as what they were asking when I picked up mine with similar mileage, but I walked out @ $19K...don't think CarMax will budge that much.

As far as C or CLK, can't really go wrong either way performance-wise. The M113 and 5-speed appears to be about as bulletproof as an AMG can get. Can't offer much of an opinion on the W204s, the new styling just doesn't do it for me

C230s your first car? me to, I feel like its just gotten so plain now. I like the coupe because I get crazy handling in it and its just fun to drive, but the sedan just isn't doing enough for me right now. I figured that instead of putting more money into this car which is what I would be doing, I could just buy a C55 and not waist money like I am with my car right now.

Wow you paid 19k, good deal, how many miles was on it when you got yours? I have been watching auto trader for a while now waiting for a perfect one to come up at a perfect price but they all seem to be on the other side of the county, not to many good ones come up locally. I am not in a huge rush for it because I have another car to drive until then and plus I still haven't even tried selling the sedan, so I probably would look for the perfect one for a while, that cars perfect, but to high of a price, if I was able to get it for 19k like you did I would; I doubt I could talk them down 6 thousand though. I hated the w204s styling at first too, but when I got one of the 2012 face lifted ones that completely changed for me, I still wouldn't go for the preface lifted w204s either. Also are common problems on the C55s that I should look out for when buying one?

Was considering that one, I like the birds eye interior but not feeling the headunit, why would you put a single din in a C55.

I got my pewter C55 in dec 2010 for 17k. It was a one owner, 49k 49936 to be exact. Fully loaded bix, navi, Hk sound, Pewter metallic with black interior. Sold it the next year with 53660 miles..

What a deal! I would pay that much for it right now, you got it for that much 2 years ago! I hope I find a deal like that. What do you like better your old C55 or the C350?

I saw that on here a few months back if he was in California I would jump on that, I just don't want to deal with buying a car out side of california. Sick C55 though.

Haha ya but to be honest I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't CA registered and smogged with CA plates. I just don't want to deal with the hassle it would come with. I am leaning towards a CLK right now, I have been spending hours on the w209 section of the forum trying to learn more about them.

The only thing I dont like about the early w204's is the interior, the facelift has a wonderful update though. Not sure about the USA, but here in Australia, the facelift will be some time before it comes down in price too much. Maybe go for the CLK55 in the meantime.

I drove my uncles once, it was nice, I just don't like the look of it to much. It drives really nicely though, I need the rear seats though because of my sister. She still needs to sit in a car seat in the back seat because she's to young. A 2 person car just wouldn't be practical for me as a DD

Ya I feel like they downgraded the interior between the facelifed w203s to the pre facelift w204s, the facelift they did though was crazy nice. Made the car a million times better IMO. I love the more aggressive lights and body style on the facelifted w204s too. I think it will be about 3 years till the price really falls a lot so I think I might go with a CLK500 or CLK550 (the CLK55 seems to be to hard to find, if I come across one in CA for a good price I will get that instead though) and then keep the CLK for 3-4 years and then sell it at that point and get a face lifted w204 or a CLS, thats a whiles away though. Iv been doing alot of car shopping this weekend and I am pretty set on getting either a white or black CLK.

awh I wish, way out of my price range though. Im looking to spend close to 20k give or take a few thousand. C63s haven't had that much of a price drop and probably wont any time soon

The c350. I like the manual trans option. The C55 is a powerhouse for sure.

Do you have the w203 sedan and coupe?
IMO I don't like the coupes but the Clk or Cl are nice..
Why keep the coupe and not the sedan? Or get rid of both?

Cz it's ugly in my opinion...the back lights are just idk...
I would sell the coupe 1st or sell both and he may be able to get a c55 or a CLK/CL which is much better looking.

I wouldn't say there ugly, with a few simple mods nad some coil overs there great looking cars, especially considering how old some of them are. My coupe is 10 years old and a lot of people think its new after I wash it, when people guess how old it is they usually say 2-4 years no were near 10. I feel you on the back lights, I think the 05 lights look a lot better. I am able to buy the C55 or CLK right now, even if I was short on money the 5K that the coupe would bring in wouldn't make to much of a difference, I would rather just spend some time finding the best possible deal and the perfect car with all the features I want know instead of buying one thats not exactly what I want and spending thousands in mods to get those things (heated seats, black interior, NAVI, premium sound, AMG body kit) and all those things. I am pretty much 99% sure I am going to go with a CLK550 or CLK55 but still keeping a open mind on what to get. Not in a rush, just looking to get it anytime between now and september so I have a cool amount of time haha

Yes I have the sedan and the coupe. I have never at all been a fan of the older CL's. I would choose either of my cars over a CL any day (no offense to CL owners just personally don't like them) I just bought the coupe am completely happy with it, Great handling, fun to drive, and a nice amount of power. I don't plan on getting ride of the coupe for a while its a great car and I prefer to have 2 cars its a lot more practical for me to have an extra car. Usually one of the cars will either be un drivable because I am in the middle of a mod, ones in the shop, or just random things like that come up which make it a lot more convent, Plus its nice to have another car as a back up. I agree on the w209s being nicer then both the w203 sedans and coupes though

lol when i had that body kit and the 19inch rims, people always think my coupe was the current year model, and yes, after a wash my coupe looks perfectly new... wash and wax and clay twice a month yo

sold the coupe and got that Hybrid, I REGRET NOTHING!!
