Cannot open Driver's door from inside
Hope people are still posting on these cars. Here is my problem:
2002 C230 coupe. The driver's side door handle in the interior sort of just hangs there, as it doesn't go back to its default spot where it should normally be. Also, it doesn't open the door anymore. I have to open the window and open it from the outside (which works fine).
Is it a broken cable? If it was the actuator, the outside wouldn't open either, right?
Well, any help is appreciated and if it is a DIY project, please explain.

sounds like the connecting rod is not attached to the handle puller
remove the door panel and see if its disconnected. very simple to re-attach if all the parts are in good working condition.

To just remove the panel from the door, there are three torx you have to remove on the coupe. One is behind the underside of the door handle (the circular access panel is easy to see, just pop it with a thin flathead screwdriver), one behind the "SRS" badge, and a third one on the plastic trim around the door catch (will be obvious when you open the door and look at that area).
Probably won't need to undo the wiring to see if the connecting rod is off; there should be enough play, but be careful. If the rod's in place, probably electrical, though my guess would be on the rod. Good luck.

PS Don't follow the directions for the sedan; the procedure is slightly different.
And be VERY careful with the window switches; the thin tunnels where the tiny torx bolts go are very fragile, and the switches are amazingly expensive.
EDIT:
I tried to add this post at the same time as hcoronado, not after. But the important thing remains: DO NOT FOLLOW THE SEDAN INSTRUCTIONS!! How the handle is attached is different, and you don't want to mess with the door handles in the same way - you'll break them on the coupe.
