It's Killing me!

Went by the dealer yesterday afternoon and picked up an '04 C class cataloge. They have my C320 Coupe/6 speed ordered and gave me order number 00001. I asked if it was their order number and they said MB gave them the number. Is my C320 the first ordered in '04??

So, I sit here eating my lunch and reading this forum and it is KILLING ME!! I WANT MY C320!! My wonderful wife wants me to get an automatic (so she could drive it)....I could get one much sooner......I must resist.....I want a 6 speed....yep, the wait is worth it- 6 speed it is...

I thought about checking into sending a plac to Germany and have the final assembly workers that put my car together sign it. Do you guys think that is possible? First car I have ordered and want to make this car very special.

Have a great day driving your Mercedes! (I wish I could come out and play).

Want to make it memorable? Fly to Germany and pick it up at the factory!

I was just about to suggest the European delivery, too. I wish I had done it.

Re: It's Killing me!

Yeah, that's got to be tough. We bought our car on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait 'til Monday afternoon. That was probably the longest Sunday I've ever had.

Well, you can keep looking through the picture threads or something...

Going to Germany to pick it up would be something!! But, just don't have the time/money

My wife can drive a stick fine, but is hard headed about it. She is not a car person at all! My "toy" is a 66 Datsun 1600 Roadster and she has been in it once. I am giving up my custom Roadster for this car. Getting money for a "play car" is just too tough. I am guessing once she sees the MB in the driveway, she will be a stick driver

I have ordered a Silver/Charcoal, Premium package, CD, and AMG sway bars. I would love to get the Bi-Xenon light, but not in the (wife's) buget.

Question - what is that "handle" looking thing in the center of the coupe/panorama roof wind deflector?

Well, back to drooling over my new cataloge

Coupes, such as mine, without the little "handle" suffer from a very loud booming sound at 40 to 50 mph when the roof is fully open and the window are closed. The little addtional deflector eliminates the booming. The other way to stop the booming is open a window slightly. I also find that driving 75 mph stops it quite nicely.

NEVER NEVER forget the Bi-Xenon. and think of any option you want carefully because afterward when you want to install it, the labor cost itself....

Hey Frank,

Yeah, I just got the wheels from Chino Hills last Friday. Bought them from eBay. They were pretty inexpensive. Pretty much an even trade for my stock C7 wheels, so I couldn't pass it up. Still looking for a staggered set though... In fact, that just reminded me that I missed an auction for C32 staggered wheels on eBay. hmmm... They went for $605 (wheels only). Darn, it ended at 6am this morning. I totally forgot.

Did you buy new tires?

I have a bit of a wheel fetish. I don't know if it'll carry over to the Benz, but it was a little bit of an addiction when I owned the 240sx and the Miata. I usually had 2 sets of wheels for each car and switched them out quite often.

No new tires yet, since I now only drive it during the weekend. I finally clean the garage and put the car in there. I'll order new tires once I hit 22k mile mark (2k more to go, hopefully I can last till winter). Hopefully I can save enough money to get new rims at the end of this year and then I'll sell the rims + fairly new tires (hope I can at least get $1k that way) to my friend who has a 240 or another one with 320 sport. It's hard to save money with only lunch money coming from my mom and full time student with busy schedule.
