2001 W203 C240
Fan runs on high all the time
Hi All

I'm having a problem with my 2001 C240 W203. The fan runs on high speed all the time--from the moment i turn on the ignition till i switch the car off.
I have already replaced the coolant temperature sensor with no luck. Have also replaced the fan thinking it may be the control module but still having the same issue.
When connected to STAR i am getting the following code

P2073-004 : Electric suction fan for engine or air conditioning : Open circuit (P1999)

There are no other error codes logged in the system.

Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Have you measured the ECT inputs yet at various temperatures to see if they're changing when the vehicle heats up?

I had the same issue in my 04 C240. It was may ecm and it cost me 2300 bucks. I would take it to Indy shop and see if they can diagnose it.
