Sunroof leak

Dear all,

Very ****ty, I parked my car outdoor whole day under middle raining. When I get back the car I found there is a wet water place on my driver seat (RHS).

Back home and do a detail check up. After partially open a gap for the headlinear and carbody, I found the sunroof rubber drain tube was cracked. When I put some water to the roof, water leak was found at the crack point.

Anyone please share if you have the similar problem to your W203 ?

I would like to ask too if the tube is part #12 in the diagram ?

Thanks

Hmmm,... if I found a wet spot on my driver seat,.... I'd be checking my pants first! Oops,... TMI

Is it also missing a clamp???

Spray silicon lubricant on rubber (especially seals at doors, trunk, hood) to keep them flexible.

No special brand for silicon lubricant spray,.... any big brand should be reputable,... try to stay away from house brands.

Do NOT use WD-40,... (its not silicon lubricant),.... WD-40 has cleaning agent that will eventually damage your rubber seals.

Hey Guys,

I recently found a couple damp spots on my headliner located on & around both SRS badges on the middle extreme edges of the headliner in my coupe. My car has the pano roof and my first guess is that either the seals or the drain has gone bad (or both).

Any feedback is much appreciated. I just hate going to the dealership w/o some background on this... and would prefer to fix this on my own.

Thanks

Spray silicon lubricant on rubber seals. Ensure underside of pano-glass where it contact rubber seals are clean. Make sure drain holes are not clogged.

Thanks Sunny Ray.

I will take a few pics while I do this to make sure I'm looking in the right place (and to help others that may have this problem).

Just ordered

When using silicone lubricant spray,... the silicone can be toxic and might be absorbed through the skin or any mucus membrane,.... so please use protection and where the proper latex,.... errr,.... glove,....hand glove or love glove,... whatever is appropriate in your application.
