Strange engine codes ?

Any assistance is appreciated,

Just got a code reader (Check engine light on dash) plugged it in and this is all I got out of it

-01-
-11-

When I look these up, I can find no match anywhere.

Faulty reader ?
Actual codes = What do we know about them ?
Other ?

Thank you all for your time

The codes should have P as the first letter, like P#####. Go to oreilys and get the code read., also make sure its obdII and can read our cars.

Thank you both very much,
Were in a pretty remote area of Australia and I cannot get anyone to read the codes for me (Without an exorbitant fee)

I purchased a UIF Technology memo scanner, it says it is specifically for a C-Class (Inc C180)

It's "Book of codes" are all 4 digits, without letters (No P's at start), it only read 2 codes
-01-
-11-
And neither can be found in their book as all are 4 digits, it also did not clear the codes when I requested (Cannot get rid of the check engine light) and don't know what is wrong so cannot get a starting place to find fault.

Am wondering if this scanner is just EBay trash.

Suggestions ?
Is there a better scanner I should purchase (Where ?)

Many thanks again

Actually, perhaps the "-"'s in the code -11- Are ZEROS ??? and they drop off the P ???

This would potentially be 0110 Intake air temperature sensor (In hot film mass air flow sensor B41 (To quote from book)

However -01- does not follow this logic as the book of codes starts with 0100 (There are none starting with 001

Hmmm
