stereo upgrade time what model avic???
so my 2003 c240 4matic wagon stereo has pissed me off with the no mp3 cd changer and no bluetooth or ipod playing so
Im going to replace it I have read around here and decided to go with an avic
now what model do you guys recomend
Im fine with an older model (ie buying used) NOT looking to spend huge $$$
I will be adding bluetooth and steering wheel controls and will stick with the stock speakers

MBWorld Fanatic!
I just got an AVIC X950BT that I like pretty well. The only thing I don't like is that my favorite FM station gets static that I never got with the original MB stereo. The other stations come in fine and my wife has a hard time with static on radios in the house on that station so I don't think it's the head unit (there must be something on the margins of both the HU and the station that don't match up???).
I've been used to Garmin GPS and at first the Pioneer GPS seemed sort of stark, but I've come to like it a lot - maybe better than Garmin. It's not as chatty but it gives good directions and there are some other nice features that may be available on Garmin but I'm not sure.
Bluetooth works well and everything is well integrated - the radio mutes when you're on a call or the GPS is giving directions.
I don't have an iPod or smart phone so I can't comment on that support. I have played mp3s on a microSD card and that works well though some thought about organizing the music is called for because it's a challenge to navigate long lists (or I haven't mastered the technique).
The Z110 certainly has more features and costs a little more. That would probably be a good route to go also.
Good luck and let us know what you get and how you like it!
